Work on the restoration of these ancient Buddha Shakyamuni thangka began on October 12, 2025. They are not expected to be completed until sometime in 2026.
Although it was clear that this scroll painting to be restored had originally been created [presumably in a monastery] by highly talented monks, it was now almost completely in poor condition. Unlike the other thangkas in this section, restoration work was necessary that covered almost the entire image.
