Work on the conservation of this ancient Buddha Shakyamuni thangka began on October 12, 2025. The work was completed on December 17, 2025.
Although it was clear that this scroll painting to be restored had originally been created [presumably in a monastery] by highly talented monks, it was now almost completely in poor condition. Unlike the other thangkas in this section, conservation work was necessary that covered almost the entire image.
