The charity's work for slum children in Kathmandu

"Kinderhilfe Nepal" is an association recognized by the tax office as a non-profit organization with the aim of promoting schooling and education for children in Nepal. The project takes care of about 300 children from three slum communities in Kathmandu. A kindergarten cares for the children while the mothers are at work.

The development of Children's Relief Nepal

Children's Relief Nepal has been active in Kathmandu since 1989. Three times a year, it informs in newsletters about the current situation in Nepal and especially about the development, focus and events of our work.

Over such a long period of time, they are also a reflection of the development in Nepal with its ups and downs.

What happened to our children?

Children's Relief Nepal maintained an orphanage in Kathmandu from 1989 to 2008. The children received an optimal school education and received corresponding suitability also a university attendance.

From 2006, no new children were admitted. The children who grew up in the orphanage became adults and were released into independence. Because of their good education, almost all of them made their way later in life. The focus of the work then gradually shifted to helping children in three slums of Kathmandu.
