Jetsün Milarepa (Tibetan རྗེ་བཙུན་མི་ལ་རས་པ Wylie rje btsun mi la ras pa; * 1040; † 1123) was a tantric master and founder of the Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
He was the tantric yogi who continued the Mahamudra lineage of Marpa. He is considered one of the greatest yogis and ascetics in Tibet. He is also regarded as Tibet's greatest poet.
He is easily recognisable by his gesture with one hand on his right ear. He is listening to the echo of his own singing in the mountains of the Himalayas.
