Unusual Buddhist finely crafted painted stand made of wood.
Originally, it probably held a small standing bronze or wooden figure. Unfortunately, this figure has been lost.
Tibetan nomads had to constantly transport their household goods on the backs of their yaks and therefore could not afford larger statues in their tents for their small altars. This stand was therefore ideal for them in size and weight for a dignified presentation of a small family patron deity.
The red fire aureole suggests that the lost sculpture was a wrathful deity.
Circular stand measures 1 inch / 2.5 cm in diameter.
Below the round base, seven green lotus petals complete the stand.
