Full View Detail 1 Detail 2 Detail 3

Antique wooden Fragment with three golden? Buddha images with Bhurmisparsha Mudra and remaining color pigments.

Probably it belonged to an altar or cupboard in a Tibetan monastery that was destroyed after 1960 by Chinese people's Liberation Army or the Red Guards. Tibetans often took such fragments from their destroyed monasteries and had taken them on their escape to India or Nepal.

More than 6,000 monasteries were destroyed. Of the 6,259 monasteries in Tibet before the Chinese occupation, only eight remained in 1976.
