Bodhisattva Manjushri

Tsongkhapa [1357 - 1419] was one of the greatest Tibetan lamas, he is believed to be the third great incarnation of Manjushri [after Long Chenpa and Sakya Pandita] to have blessed Tibet with a major intellectual opus. He set the curriculum for the vastly expanded monastic institution that "industrialized" Tibet's production of enlightened persons from the renaissance of the 15th century.

He founded the yearly Great Prayer Festival in Lhasa that expresses the millenial consciousness that has sparked teh nation during the last five centuries..
