Ten Akshobhya & Eight Surgatha Stupas

This tsa tsa shows ten representations of the Tathagata Buddha Akshobhya and eight Sugata Stupas right and left.

The left hand of Akshobhya in his lap in Dhayana mudra, his right hand makes the gesture of touching the earth [Bhumisparsa]. Each Akshobhya sits on a single layered lotus thron.

An interesting detail is the arrangement of the four elephants running to the left at the bottom, forming the throne animals of Akshobhya.

The eight stupas symbolize eight scenes from the life of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni, which are depicted on this tsa-tsa:

1 - Descend from Tushita Heaven
2 - Reconcillation of the Sangha
3 - Birth of Buddha
4 - Turn On the Wheel of Dharma
5 - Paranirvana
6 - Enlightment of Buddha
7 - Buddha's Miracles
8 - Victory opf Buddhism
