This Tsa Tsa shows Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava
[Tibetan: pad ma 'byung gnas པད་མ་འབྱུང་གནས་]
Padmasambhava [»Born from a Lotus«] also known as Guru Rinpoche [Precious Teacher]. According to some early Tibetan sources he came to Tibet in the 8th century and helped construct, the first Buddhist monastery Samye in Tibet. However, little is known about the actual historical figure other than his ties to Vajrayana and Indian Buddhism.
The success of the Buddhism he brought to Tibet was possible, among other things, because he did not suppress the Bon nature religion that existed in Tibet. He is said to have subdued the spirits and demons that initially opposed Buddhism through tantric powers, and to have bound many of them as to the Buddha's teachings. He succeeded in "taking over" the deities of the local Bon religion as protectors of Buddhism.
The age has left its mark. Obviously, the Tsa Tsa was worn for years on the body, it is thus age-related no longer in perfect condition. The last detail photo shows the stamp associated with this Tsa Tsa.
