Buddha Shakyamuni with Stupas and two Disciples

Very old small Tsa Tsa

Front Side Side View [1] Side View [2] Back

This very old Tsa Tsa shows Buddha Shakyamuni on a double lotus throne. His right hand shows the earth invocation gesture, his left holds the begging bowl. Due to age, unfortunately, original finer details are no longer visible, but this also gives the object a special patina.

At the top, three stupas/chörts are depicted. Below, Buddha Shakyamuni is flanked by two of his disciples. Presumably these are his two favorite disciples Shariputra and Maudgalyayana.

Origin and age: Tibet - Age: from the state of preservation and style probably older than 500 years
