This very old Tsa Tsa shows the »Green Târâ« [Tib.: »sgrol ljang སྒྲོལ་ལྗང«]. The weathered surface indicates, that it has lain presumably for years in the outside on a stupa which today prevents an even approximately estimated age determination.
In historical Tibet, life was not without danger, especially when travelling. The Tara protects against the »Eight Great Dangers of Life«. For this reason it was very popular in Tibet.
The sureface was originally painted, but all colors are gone now. Only two small red color spots are remaning.
