This large massive old Tsa Tsa shows »Green Târâ« [Tib.: »sgrol ljang སྒྲོལ་ལྗང«]. She sits on a lotus growing out of the water. Above her head floatsa parasol of protection with ribbons below.
In historical Tibet, life was not without danger, especially when travelling. The Tara protects against the »Eight Great Dangers of Life«. For this reason it was very popular in Tibet.
The whole cusped-arch rectangular shape is bordered by a raised rim, creating a protective frame. Nevertheless, time has also left its marks on this votive tablet. Her face is a bit rubbed off and the Tibetan inscription on the right edge is no longer legible.
