Tsa Tsa Selection

Very old Tsa Tsas [17th cent. & older]

The first Tsa Tsas were created about 1000 years ago. Due to the material, only very few pieces from that time have survived. Tibetan Buddhist iconography had not yet manifested itself at that time, so that the identification of Tsa Tsas from their early period is sometimes difficult today. Tsa Tsas from the 15th / 16th century onwards were usually easier to identify, unlike their older predecessors. A comparison of the evolution of Vajrapani Tsa Tsas makes this clear.

How did Tsa Tsas survive for thousend years largely unscathed?
