Large Brass

Buddhist amulet container

This beautiful large gau shows a design with an intertwining vine pattern on the front.

In search of valuable contents, gaus were opened after the Chinese occupation of Tibet after 1950. As with most gaus still in existence today, the filling has been lost as a result, and the gau is empty.

Condition: The gau is almost undamaged, but age has left its mark on the surface. Click on the download link below to see the details better when enlarged. At the bottom part of the decoration on the left has been lost.
