It shows Buddha Shakyamuni in center attended by the two monks Shariputra und Maudgalyayan who are famous for their intellectual and mystical powers.

The style tends to be rich in smallest details, exquisitely refined patterning [usually in polished gold]. The threadlike gold lines in extremely delicate patterns of the highest refinement are an especially notable feature of this painting and creates an exceedingly elegant and linear style.
