Avalokiteshvara is often grouped with Maitreya und Vajrapani. The three celestial Bodhisattvas are thought of as archangelic protectors, representing the power [Vajrapani], compassion [Avalokiteshvara], and wisdom [Manjushri] of all the Buddhas of past, present, and future.

On top above Avalokiteshvara Buddha Amitabha is depicted.
