Enlightment Stupa

Large Stone Stupa

This stupa was built by three stone carver families in Kathmandu. It is known as the Enlightenment Stupa [Tibetan name: byang chub chodrten], which symbolize the enlightenment of Buddha in the gazelle grove of Sarnath.

It took 18 months to complete it. The size is 13 feet / 4 m. The weight is 40,000 lbs / 18 000 KG.
