Many parts of Nepal were affected by the earthquake on April 25, 2015 including Risankhu village in Sindhupalchok was also the most affected district. The Chhyoiphel Kundeling Monastery was hit hard, it almost completely collapsed. Numerous wall paintings were irretrievably destroyed.
